Encircling Coils are typically used for on-line inspection of tubes, bars and wires.
These specialty coils are typically used for detecting manufacturing-related flaws such as inclusions, porosity, cracks, laps, seams, etc. Encircling coils are also used when testing for correct heat treatment.
